New Art Page

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 12, 2008, 4:42 PM
I have finally done it! I've talked about it for a while, but now I've finally done it! I now have a new page on myspace for primarily my artwork. It pretty much turned into an all day project, having to go through 20 plus years of artwork, but it's done. It will be really cool if everyone checked it out! You'll see things that I don't have on my DA page. I hope you enjoy!

Summer

Journal Entry: Fri Jun 13, 2008, 10:16 PM
Well, it's finally summer! Time to plant the garden, do the upkeep of the yard and enjoy the weather. It is also the time to get ready for a special event in October. This year I will attempt to enter some artwork to the "Terror Fantasy Artshow" in Salem, MA. Ahhhh... Salem... the one town that really knows how to celebrate Halloween! An entire month of ghouls, witches, monsters, and vampires. The time of year of the annual Witch's Ball and the famous Vampire's Ball (hope to be able to afford to go this year). October is the time of year where I am at my most darkest, sensitive people can see my darkness. I have had some try to offer to take away my darkness, in which I said no, because if you take away my darkness, you take away my creativity. Not everything can be light and pretty. The balance is that you need the dark, too. However, there is still alot of work to do. More research has to be done before my project can even be sketched. Hopefully, they will be done in time. It's very hard to juggle a job (only because it pays the bills, always said that I would not be a starving artist) and household (there's a lot of work that needs to be done and no money left to fix it). With the economy going the way it is, I find myself wondering, will I be able to keep my house? Will I be able to pay my bills without starving? Will I be able to afford to heat my home this coming winter? The worries of someone who has a passion for art and a passion for creating things from the imagination while the reality of the world seems to slap one in the face with a very large book.
These are just some thoughts I decided to put down in words, some are worries though I still have hope for the future. Thank the powers that be that it's summer!!!

P.S. And if that damn woodchuck wipes out my garden this year, I'm throwing his ass on the grill!

Attention: All Artists, Photographers, and Authors

Journal Entry: Fri May 9, 2008, 4:32 PM
I urge everyone who comes across this journal to read it, if you have not read the submitted news article. This is concerning the pending bill before the Senate and House called The Orphan Works Act 0f 2008, Bill # S.2913, which is being rushed to be passed by the end of this weekend. This concerns all artists, photographers, and authors of the rights to your work. This bill basically allows infringers to steal your work and claim it as their own, basically claiming ownership of the work. Under this bill an infringer can claim your work without consultation and compensation, and if taken to court, the infringer can claim that he could not find you, and the court can deem your work as "orphan work" and grant ownership to the infringer without copyright penalty or compensation. This is very serious. Under current copyright laws, even if an artist, author, or photographer is not registered with the copyright office, we still have certain rights under the copyright laws. This bill will make them obsolete. Just imagine a vacation photo that you posted on the web, and some company suddenly claims ownership and starts using it to either promote a product or advertise their company, without your permission or any compensation paid to you for the use of the photo. Under this bill, if you took them to court for copyright infringement, all the company would have to say is that they could not find you, and the court could deem your vacation photo as "orphan work" and grant the ownership & use of that photo to the company that stole it from you without having to pay you a dime for it. I think it is time for the artisitc community to stand up for its creative rights, after all it does say the land of the free, life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness? I urge you all to go to the following like and contact your senators and representatives (after all, are tax dollars pay their wages) and urge them not to pass this bill. This bill could ultimately harm the livlihoods of may artists, photographers, and authors.
Tell them to vote NO!

Vampire Folklore

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 26, 2008, 12:28 PM
I am currently finishing up on my research on vampire folklore from around the world. So far, it's been amazing to find where our contemporary concept of the vampire came from. The farthest I have gone back is to 4000 b.c., this is pretty much where the term "doomed to walk the earth for eternity" came from. It's amazing to see the similarities with each culture. A lot of African, South American and other indigenous tribal lore descripe the vampire as a shape-shifting creature, while in Asia the vampire is mainly a female, and of course, we all know the European version of the vampire is the undead corpse of a corrupt indiviual or an unfortunate soul who died a violent death. So far, it has been very intrigueing research, and I look forward to creating these folklores by turning them into visual pictures derived from their descriptions.

Until then.

TVD

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 10, 2008, 6:18 PM
I have found TVD to be a great experience. It's nice to finally find a space that supports artists (especially dark artists). I enjoy seeing other people's artwork, which is amazing! I am privelaged to be able to show my work on this site. And I am very grateful that others will be able to see it. TVD supports a number of talented individuals of all genres, and to me, it means that artists (including myself) will finally get noticed.

Welcome everyone! I hope you enjoy some examples of my work. Most of it is older stuff, done when I was much younger. I'm currently working (and researching) on some new artwork. When they are finished, they will be posted, as well as a new site. If you would like to see other examples of my work, go to [link]
